Final Evaluation (3D MAYA)

Posted: January 21, 2009 in 3d Modelling

(Here are two different versions of my 3D animation combined with a flash animation at the end. Since they are on youtube the quality has been reduced slightly, so it does lag a bit.) Overall I think this is one of the hardest projects to do, as well as learning a conmpletely new program. I [...]

Maya Update

Posted: January 20, 2009 in 3d Modelling

Recently whilst trying to create blend shapes in my project yet again I an into another problem where for some reason it wouldn’t let me create the blend shape even though I was fully aware of how to create them. At this point I had decided for my final clip(animation) that I would just take [...]

Basics of Blend Shapes

Posted: January 19, 2009 in 3d Modelling

Recently I found this video on You Tube to help me with the basics of blend shapes, and this video is particularly good because it explains all the basics fairly well and I am starting to get to grips with it, the only problem I see myself having is syncing the blend shapes to the [...]

Maya Update

Posted: January 14, 2009 in 3d Modelling

Recently with my animation I found myself deleting layers out of the animationĀ that had some how double up onĀ itself. I managed to fix the the problem however, when I then tried to load the file the next day, I found it to be extremely slow, and possibly the file was corrupted. So I decided to [...]

Maya Update

Posted: January 11, 2009 in 3d Modelling

I’ve decided to updayte my idea. Hopefully I will be recording the audio tomorrow evening but, the only change that will be made is to change my face into a mask, and at the end of the animation (i.e. sober ot drunk) the mask will turn to cloth and fall down.

The development of the head animation in Maya is going pretty well at the moment I have had some major set back of the Christmas hoidays, but I’m back on track and I should be this week going out to film me having some drink to get the audio for the animation and also the [...]

Cyclops facial expression test

Posted: December 17, 2008 in 3d Modelling

I found this as a good video to show some general facial expressions that I could pick up on to use for my own (granted I know its a cyclops, but the features are very diffined making some very good expressions in the animation).

MAYA Action Plan

Posted: December 17, 2008 in 3d Modelling

When coming up with ideas for this project I found it particularly hard just to come up with one simple idea. Originally what I wanted to do was use the phrase “How some people hide behind a mask of themselves” so as not to show who they really are. So in the animation I would [...]

3D animation storyboard.

Posted: December 9, 2008 in 3d Modelling

Here is a copy of a very ruff version of the storyboard for my 3D animation. To sum it up, I am going to aniamte the head to some recorded audio footage of myself transitioning slowly from sober to drunk. The idea is to show how much obviously, it will take for me to get [...]

I am having a hard time wrapping the main part of my head in polygons. Unfortunately when I started the face wasn’t perfectly in-line but that was by the eye so it wasn’t to much of a problem. However for the rest of the head I was getting really involved in the work to only [...]
